Huron Technology Corp.’s Pallet Stacker/De-Stacker is incredibly useful in a broad range of industries, as it provides automated stacking, de-stacking, and storing of pallets during assembly, packaging, distribution, processing, and more. The Pallet Stacker/De-Stacker played a pivotal role in an automotive application for a seat manufacturing plant, where car seats are manufactured and delivered to automotive plants and inserted into vehicle bodies. In this application, finished seats are loaded onto seat pallets, conveyed and transported to the automotive plant.

Fully loaded pallets of seats are delivered to the automotive manufacturer, unloaded and transported to the assembly line just in time to correspond with the correct vehicle on the assembly line. Once seats are removed from pallets and inserted into vehicle bodies, the empty pallets are conveyed and stacked, typically 6-high, by the Pallet Stacker. Automating seat pallet stacking reduces risk of worker injury and downtime associated with manual stacking.

Empty stacks of pallets are conveyed to the docking area, loaded on trucks, and transported back to the supplier for more seats. The empty stacks of pallets arrive at the supplier plant where Huron Technology Corp.’s Pallet De-Stacker automates the de-stacking of pallets.

The Pallet Stacker/De-Stacker assists in the production process with throughputs of approximately 70 cars per hour. Huron Technology Corp. also provides Pallet Stackers and De-Stackers specifically designed for short-term applications.
